Hey! And welcome to my site!! My name is Linda. I live at the coast on the waterway and am loving life here with my husband and bigggg black dog! Every day is a holiday here and a new day to see God's creation in a new light! The sights here are usually breathtaking and in need of being captured in a truly exciting way and I am just the artist to do it! Enjoy my paintings and let me know if I can accommodate you with one or two of them. Each is an original, framed in a bright color--either metal or wood--to compliment each piece. They can be purchased and shipped upon request.
Being an artist to me is all about giving a voice to the music within, using expressive marks in and through beautiful color and interesting subject matter. My interest in the visual arts is endless; being creative all of my life, I have enjoyed many artistic venues, through dress making, textile creations, including a successful designer upholstery business, and working for a number of years as art director for a fashionable retirement community. My life long love for porcelain art has only been preempted in the past few years by watercolor on paper. And as of late, some acrylic. Now have added a keen interest in Oils!!! Color and light have always intrigued me. My vision is a brightly colored painting with warmth, movement, and emotion . I love the water, fresh breezes, motion of the waves, birds, and coastal scenes that I encounter each day. It is my desire to take an ordinary every day scene and make it a paradise to encourage and bring joy and pleasure to all who view it. Lose yourself in some faraway island, maybe the Caribbean, .... maybe Beaufort, and enjoy my site!
In addition to my home studio you can see my artwork at the Mattie King Davis Gallery, Beaufort, NC, where I was recently "featured artist" for the Christmas Candlelight tour art walk, 2013, and my Bamboo Designs in the Artestry Hideawayin Historic Beaufort, North Carolina, on Turner Street and the Beaufort Waterfront.
I belong to the North Carolina Watercolor Society, Carteret CountyCouncil for the Arts, Arts for the Hospital, Beaufort Historical Society, and the local CON Artists critique group. I have had my art shown in the local News Times, featured in the Islander magazine and have been on the front cover of Arts Alive. I have had many one man shows as well as participating in local shows.
